Where can I print a free letter O tracing worksheet?
Right here. Hello Playdate has a free, printable letter O tracing worksheet — the uppercase O and lowercase o in dotted guide letters on handwriting lines, then a blank line to write them solo. No sign-up, no watermark; it prints on plain A4 or US Letter paper.
How to form the letter O
Tracing is the gentlest way into handwriting, and the letter O worksheet gives kids big dotted guide letters to trace before they try it solo. Here is how each form is made, in the words you can say out loud as they trace.
Uppercase O: Start near the top and curve up and over to the left, then sweep all the way round — down, along the bottom and back up the right side — until you close the ring where you began. One big round circle, no lifting.
Lowercase o: Exactly the same, smaller: start just under the midline, curve up and left, and sweep all the way round to close a small circle on the baseline. Same letter, half the size.
Once the shape feels familiar, hunt for the letter in real words — octopus, orange, owl, ostrich and olive all start with O. Saying the sound while tracing the shape is how the letter really sticks (an octopus, an orange and an owl all start with O).
