1. Account holder is responsible

The person who signed in is responsible for everything uploaded under that account, including images uploaded by family members or shared devices using the same login. Don't share your account with anyone you wouldn't trust to be careful with the upload button.

2. No minors without parental consent

Hello Playdate is built for parents to make print booklets out of family photos. Anyone under 13 must use this service only with a parent or guardian who has accepted these terms on their behalf. Anyone 13–17 must have a parent's permission to use the service. By accepting, you represent you meet this requirement.

3. No abusive or illegal content

Don't upload anything that's illegal where you live or where the host operates, and don't upload content depicting child sexual abuse, non-consensual intimate imagery, gore, harassment, or material that glorifies real-world violence. Doing so will result in immediate account termination, retention of evidence per law, and reporting to the relevant authorities (NCMEC for CSAM, hosting partners for violations of their AUP). The hosting partner of this service may also take independent action.

4. We may remove content and accounts

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms, suspend or delete any account, and refuse service for any reason. Reports of violations can be sent to [email protected].

5. What you make is yours, and you may sell it

You own your uploads and your output. The photos you upload stay yours. As between you and us, the coloring pages, booklets, worksheets, and other printables you create here are yours too — we claim no ownership of them. You grant us only the limited permission we need to run the service: to store your work, show it back to you, and show it to other people if (and only if) you choose to share or feature it yourself.

Commercial use is granted on every plan. Hello Playdate gives you a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use what you make here for any lawful purpose, personal or commercial. That expressly includes selling printed or digital coloring books, listing them on Etsy, Amazon KDP, or a shop of your own, and selling or licensing classroom and teacher resources. This covers both pages generated from your own photos and pages you take from our printable library and build into something. No attribution is required, and you owe us nothing on what you earn.

The grant does not differ by plan. Anonymous, free, Gift Pack, and Pro all get exactly the same rights to what they make. Paid plans buy a larger daily allowance — 50 creations a day on Pro versus 10 free creations a day — not extra permission. A book-scale project is a reason to want the bigger allowance, never a reason you'd need it to sell.

What isn't allowed. Don't redistribute our printable library as-is — reposting, bundling, or lightly retouching our catalog art and selling it as a clip-art pack, a printables bundle, or a competing library is the one commercial use this license does not cover; the grant is for things you make, not for the raw catalog. Also off-limits: bulk scraping or automated downloading of the library, and reselling or sharing access to your account.

Third-party rights are yours to clear. If what you make and sell includes a character, brand, logo, or likeness owned by someone else, obtaining the rights to sell it is your responsibility — we can only license what is ours, and this grant carries no rights in third-party material. The same goes for photos of people: if you sell something made from a photo of someone other than your own family, get their permission first.

6. Retention disclosure

Hello Playdate keeps your photos and creations rather than deleting them on a timer. Signed in, everything you make is kept for you to come back to, with no expiry. As a guest, your work is saved on this device under an anonymous ID, and you can claim it any time by creating an account.

A few operational exceptions apply to things that aren't your kept creations: unclaimed guest artifacts (work made without an account and never claimed) are swept after 7 days, and usage logs (counts of generations plus cost estimates, kept to run the service) are retained for 90 days. The private PDF and first-name list are deleted after 24 hours. You can delete your own account, photos, and pages at any time — that's your choice, never something we do on a timer.

7. Image-generation processing

Image generation runs on OpenAI's image model, routed through Cloudflare AI Gateway. The relevant photo is sent (encoded inline in the request) to produce your outline, which is returned to us. Cloudflare meters the usage. By accepting these terms you also agree to those processors' terms and privacy policies as downstream handlers of those images. The cost is billed to us, not to you — there is no third-party generation account you need to bring or pay for.

8. No warranty

This service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. If you depend on a specific outline or PDF for any time-sensitive purpose, save a local copy.

9. Changes

These terms may be updated. Material changes will require you to re-accept on your next sign-in.
