Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026-06-22
Hello Playdate helps parents turn family photos into printable coloring pages, activity packs, and other kid-friendly printables. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the promises we make about your photos and your kids' creations. We keep it short and in plain language on purpose.
Our promise about your photos
The photos you upload are used only to make your coloring pages and printables. We never sell them, never share them with anyone outside the processors below, and never use them to train AI models. Your finished creations are saved to your account (or to an anonymous collection we keep for you) so you can come back to them.
1. What we collect
- Photos you upload. The images you choose to turn into coloring pages and printables.
- The pages you create. The outlines, coloring pages, activity packs, and other printables we generate for you, plus the names and interests you type in to personalize them.
- Your email address — if you sign in. We use a passwordless email sign-in link, so we hold your email but no password.
- Usage data. Basic activity (which tools you used, how many pages you made, rough cost of generations) so we can run the service, and privacy-friendly, cookie-light analytics about page visits.
- Payment details — only if you buy. Card processing is handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
2. How we use it
- To make the coloring pages, activity packs, and printables you ask for.
- To save your creations to your account (or anonymous collection) so they're there when you come back.
- To send you the sign-in link you request, and the occasional important account or service message.
- To keep the service running, prevent abuse, understand which tools are useful, and process payments.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your photos or your kids' creations to train AI models.
3. We retain by design (we don't auto-delete)
Hello Playdate is built so your collection is there when you come back — so we keep your photos and creations rather than deleting them on a timer. Even if you're not signed in, we give your browser an anonymous ID and save your collection under it, so you can claim it later by creating an account. We hold this data only to provide the service to you; we never sell it, share it beyond the processors below, or train models on it. You can delete your account and its data at any time by contacting us (see Contact).
4. Who processes your data
To run the service we rely on a small number of trusted third-party processors. They handle your data only to perform their function, under their own privacy terms:
- Image generation — fal.ai and OpenAI. When you generate a page, the relevant photo is sent (encoded inline in the request) to the AI image model that produces your outline, and the result is returned to us. These calls are routed through Cloudflare AI Gateway (an intermediary that proxies the request).
- Payments — Stripe. Handles all card processing for Gift Pack and Pro purchases. We never see your full card number.
- Hosting & analytics — Cloudflare and our self-hosted, privacy-friendly analytics. For serving the site and basic, cookie-light visit counts.
5. Cookies & your anonymous ID
We use a small number of cookies: one to keep you signed in, and an anonymous ID that lets us save your collection before you create an account (so nothing you make is lost). Our analytics is self-hosted and privacy-friendly — it does not follow you across other sites. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
6. Children's data
Hello Playdate is a tool for parents and guardians to make printables for their kids — it is not directed at children, and children should not create accounts or upload photos themselves. A parent or guardian is the account holder and is responsible for any photos uploaded, including photos of their children. We treat photos of kids with the same promise as everything else: used only to make your pages, never sold, shared, or used to train AI. If you believe a child has used the service without a parent's involvement, contact us and we'll help sort it out.
7. Your choices
You can delete individual creations, or delete your whole account and its data, at any time. If you'd like a copy of your data, or have it removed, just contact us and we'll take care of it.
8. Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
9. Contact
